Our day began around 7:00 am after getting 3.5 hours of sleep parked next to a big rig at a truck stop in Lovelock, NV. TRUCK STOP? Yes you read that correctly, we sleep at truck stops in the comfort of our own Ford F150 Super Cab! Although, we could afford to stay in a hotel, the fear of our gear and kayaks being stolen would be cause for a restless night. Traveling is expensive and we have learned how to be frugal travelers, our sleeping accommodations are just one of the ways we have learned to cut costs while traveling. We carry a cooler with us packed with drinks, pre-made salads, sandwich fixings and other goodies to help cut down on the expenses from eating out three times a day!
Day two was a busy day on the road for us, as we decided to make a few stops at points of interest. Our first stop was to see the famous Bonneville Salt Flats located in Wendover, Utah.

After taking a few pictures and gathering salt crystal souvenirs we drove 113 miles East to have lunch at the Great Salt Lake!

Our day ended in Laramie, WY for a few hours of shut eye… yes, at a truck stop!
Day 2: Miles traveled – 815 over 3 states
Glad to see your update..sounds like you have the routine down pat! Enjoy your time together, wherever!!
